"We booked a room at Tropical House and were very disappointed when we arrived. The room was very different in condition from the one we looked at in the photographs at the time of booking. The furniture in the room was old, broken, the bed linen was stale, the towels had holes. We immediately went to the reception to cancel our reservation, but they refused to do so. They gave us the phone number of the hotel owner and told us to resolve the issue with her. But she also refused to give us a refund and asked us to stay in the room, and the next day she promised to put us in a better room. The next day the room was indeed a little better, but there was still an unpleasant aftertaste from the way the guests were treated. In addition, the room was not cheap - we paid about 20 dollars per night.
We hope that in the future Tropical House will not provide guests with rooms with broken furniture or towels with holes.
I would like to note that trip.com was very sympathetic to us and compensated us for part of the unpleasant experience with coins, for which we are very grateful to them!"

"The service was great: the porters were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast crew served with a smile. The location was prime, in the middle of all the action. Hotel was clean and the room service and daily cleaning was excellent. Only thing is the shower and tap lacked pressure and toilet was difficult to flush. There is a nice cat cafe nearby"

"Dave, the owner was very speedy in sorting a minor issue & was very helpful with links to local restaurants & things to do.
A helpful manual on the local area was un the room which was basic but clean with great A/c.
Very central to all district 1 has to offer. Best area to be in.
Very clear instructions on entering the room.
A nice quiet place off the main road so only residence came past.
Use of washing machine/tumble dryer & washing powder no extra cost.
Use of full kitchen equipment if required but the room had its own fridge & kettle.
Great value.

TTongTerryWe had a very comfortable stay at Silverland Ben Thanh. The hotel’s design is beautiful—stylish, modern, and thoughtfully put together. The room was clean, quiet, and just right for relaxing after a day out. The staff were warm and helpful throughout our stay.
One of the best parts was the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was excellent and we ended up eating there most days because the food and service were consistently great.
The location is also a big plus—close to many popular sights, which made it easy to explore the area on foot.
All around, a great stay.

JJocelin LamThis hotel is at a very good location. It's near the top sights but not too near, making it possible to avoid the massive traffic. The areas around Ben Thanh market have so much traffic that made the area full of fumes and traffic noise. This hotel is about 10 minutes leisure walk to the market and famous spas and restaurants around. The hotel room is pretty clean and modern. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The free breakfast that came with the stay was very tasty! Staff were friendly and helpful. The downside to this hotel however is that I still couldn't escape the noise pollution. I was at the #8th and there is a generator that will be turned on at 6.30am every morning (weekends included). The restaurant is 1 level above and staff there starts shuffling furniture as early as 6.45am-ish. From about 10pm to 12 midnight, a group of dogs that live nearby would all bark very loudly at the same time. I am not sure what triggered them. But they barked very consistently every night around that time. On my last day, a weekday, nearby school started and noise from the children starts early in the morning. It may be that I have been assigned to a room that is not well located. But the different types of very loud noise made it hard to rest. If noise is not an issue, this hotel is a gem.

TTrip.com local guidesI had a wonderful stay in the ancient wing where i found the room spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning was also very cold and free of dirt. The restaurant had really good service but i was not treated with the same respect at the grand cafe on the rooftop, I found the staff there arrogant and condescending.

RRaffHotel staff were friendly, well-mannered, and professional in their service. Room cleaning staff were helpful and cleaned our room everyday, even if we put the ”Do Not Disturb” sign on our door. Room service was very easy and help was always provided very fast. The shower was great, easy to use, and always very clean. However, the hotel room is always a bit dusty, especially the window blinds and the bedside drawers. The pool could also be cleaned more regularly, as there are dirt particles floating around. The biggest pain point for us was that the food could be so much better! The afternoon tea was very bad and we only ate there once on our first day. I think you can serve fresh vegetable spring rolls as snacks instead of the ham bread, which was as dry as a rock. Most of the tea buffet provided were not edible. The breakfast was average too - we opted to eat outside at the banh mi carts and noodle carts, which tasted much better. I wish you can work together with some of these sellers to provide good local breakfast or afternoon tea. Besides that, the best point about Au Lac (other than the excellent service staff) is really the location. We never had to travel more than 15 minutes to any popular tourist location or shopping mall. We were so close to District 1 that our days were always fun and enjoyable to travel around. We really appreciated the central location so much. Overall, our stay at Au Lac was good.

RRamir M.Saigon Prince Hotel’s location is the best! The hotel is right infront of Saigon Square and is very close in proximity to the Cafe Apartment. Although, it can be a bit noisy, especially if your room is located facing Saigon Square, due to events that may happen in the Saigon Square, the program usually ends at 10 in the evening which is acceptable for me and my family.

HHann Lin, TanM Studio Hotel is strategically located within District 1, within walking distance to most of the area. All the hotel staff (be it Receptionist, Bellboy, Housekeeping, Waiters, etc) encountered are polite and professional. Room is clean and well maint. Well and wide spread of Breakfast buffet and I was looking forward to it every morning! They do serve nice Vietnam coffee there.
Read about the noise from the pubs nearby and I was prepared for it. However, I wasn't expecting the fact that I could hear the conversation from my next door. Not too sure if the walls are all made of partitions without any sound proofing done, but if you are a light sleeper, you might want to reconsider your selection.

AAveryWe stayed on the 37th floor and the view was amazing – you could see the river, the metro line and the main road. There’s a 24/7 supermarket right downstairs with lots of food and drinks to choose from. Check-in was simple and super convenient, and Ngoc was quick to respond whenever we needed anything. Parking was also pretty affordable. Our whole family had a great time and it was really a memorable experince.
